NSW RFS Data Source Integration

Ember Map facilitates integration with NSW RFS (New South Wales Rural Fire Service) Data Sources, providing access to real-time operational data.

Disclaimer: Please note that Ember Map is not officially associated with the NSW Rural Fire Service. The app accesses COP (Common Operating Picture) Data Sources upon establishing an authenticated session. An authorized NSW RFS OneRFS account is mandatory for this integration.

Enabling NSW RFS COP Integration

  1. Navigate to Settings > Advanced Features.
  2. Toggle on the NSW RFS COP features.

NSW RFS COP Settings

For quicker access to NSW RFS COP data:

  • Save your OneRFS username and password in the Advanced Features screen.
  • Your credentials are encrypted and stored locally to expedite access to the COP browser in future sessions.

Accessing COP Appliance Locations

  1. Ensure Tracking Vehicles is enabled under Settings > Advanced Features for NSW RFS COP.
  2. On the Map Screen, open the Layers Menu and select the NSWRFS COP icon in Map Details.

If an active COP session is not detected, a notification will prompt you to log into COP to retrieve data.

Utilizing the COP Browser

With the COP Browser Shortcut enabled, a red COP Browser Button appears on the Map Screen. Pressing this button opens the COP Browser, providing seamless access to the official NSW RFS COP Browser within the app.

Known Issue: On the Android version of Ember Map, the COP Browser may not display the full map correctly due to limitations in the Android WebView implementation. A temporary workaround is to click the External Browser button on the top menu of the COP Browser to access the full COP map in Chrome.

Exploring the ICON Event Log Viewer

Ember Map incorporates an in-built ICON Event Viewer, allowing users to view operational messages from ICON.

  1. Click on the COP Browser button on the Map Screen.
  2. Click on the Event Log button in the top right of the screen to view recent ICON messages.

Clicking on a message filters the list to display only messages related to that particular incident. The search bar facilitates message lookup based on region/district, incident name, or message content.

To refresh and obtain the latest messages, pull the list down.
